Another Exciting Week

This week we started with tuning into our unit with the help of a few artefacts during ‘Circle Time’. Students came up with some insightful sharing about their understanding after observing the artefacts. They made some prominent connections with their own lives and were able to express it confidently. This was done in order to understand how living things and non-living things are dependent on each other. Students also unpacked the central idea of the unit with the help of jumbled words and formed a statement using them. They also identified the transdisciplinary theme our unit falls under which is ‘Sharing the Planet’.  In Maths, students played different games outdoors called and learnt the concept of the place value of numbers. Short and Sweet Week

Though this was only a ‘three days’ week, it still has some exciting things to share with you all. Students went on a nature walk and were guided to collect three artefacts from nature. After they came back the students were provided with some questions to reflect on by the teacher. Students were given a choice to present their understanding either through writing or speaking (oral presentation) or by using any other ICT tools. This activity was done collaboratively with the other section. Students were also given a choice if they would like to work in pairs or be on their own.    Ms Sue (Dr Long’s wife) was also with us during a couple of lessons where she helped some of our students with their inquiry. Thank you, Ms Sue! Our reading session was done by Ms Robin again this week, where she read aloud some verses of funny poems with us.
