How The World Works

This week was started with provocation for the new unit. Three different artifacts were placed before students and were guided to observe the same. They were further asked to note some key points of their understanding relevant to the artifacts. The students were provided with an opportunity to dance on a piece of music. They repeated this activity three times with different instructions. In the first place, students were asked to take the whole classroom's space to dance. In the second instance, they were guided to dance only on the blue carpet placed in the center of the classroom. When it was the third time, they were provided with a small rug and were guided to dance on that. They were then asked to make connections to the dance and the artifacts. Students came up with excellent responses and were able to make connections with 'Matter' stating they're different elements of the Earth. Most of them mentioned that the unit is related to science. Child Rights

 We started this term by sharing about our 'Christmas break'. Students love to discuss their experiences and we get to learn so much from each other. As each individual has a different set of experiences, it provides an opportunity for us to learn something new. While playing 'Duck, duck, goose', each of us got a chance to learn something new from one another.  Students were provided with an opportunity to share their research on Child Rights. They were provided with the time to prepare for their presentations. Some groups created Powerpoint presentations, one of them performed a skit, some had paper presentations and another one created a diorama. Each group had its own creativity to present their understanding of Child Rights. With Ms. Louisa's help, students were able to create a song on Child Rights. The tune of the song was inspired, however, students of Grade 3 recreated the lyrics. Some of the students also played musical instruments...
