First Week of School!!!

It was a delightful first week of the school with some old and new faces. The new bunch of students in Grade 3 K brought in a lot of energy and enthusiasm. All happy faces and clarity in their minds kept us going through the week and seems as if the week ended in a jiffy!!

I hope students shared their school's experiences of the first week at home with all the parents. Here are some snippets of them having fun and learning at the same time. Enjoy watching them!!


 


 
























 







 













It is very evident through these pictures that children had loads of play and fun activities during this week. We did reflect at the end of each day to understand what have we learnt out of the learning engagements. It was fascinating to know that students think and communicate a lot while playing. In our reflections, they came up with the learnings of how to be in a team and work collaboratively, organizing ourselves and the classroom. They were able to connect their learning engagements with the ATLs(Approaches to Learning skills). For example, communication, social and self-management skills.

I would like to express my gratitude to all the specialists who helped in enhancing students' learning right from the commencement of the academic year by coming into the classes and making our learning more enriching. Thank you!

I would also like to thank all the students for being cooperative. It was a smooth and fun-filled first week. Thank you!

    First of all I would like to thanks for wishing us on festival. Jannat Hussain was eagerly waiting for the commencing of school. In the first week first blog when we saw as it seems jannat Hussain looks like old student the way you people recieved and classmates its wonderful because it's not easy to settle in new atmosphere. I hope and pray for a successful year ahead.Thank you.

Short and Sweet Week

Though this was only a ‘three days’ week, it still has some exciting things to share with you all. Students went on a nature walk and were guided to collect three artefacts from nature. After they came back the students were provided with some questions to reflect on by the teacher. Students were given a choice to present their understanding either through writing or speaking (oral presentation) or by using any other ICT tools. This activity was done collaboratively with the other section. Students were also given a choice if they would like to work in pairs or be on their own.    Ms Sue (Dr Long’s wife) was also with us during a couple of lessons where she helped some of our students with their inquiry. September-Week-3

Monday this week began with the assembly on launching the ‘Peace Week’. As we have the International Day of Peace on 21 st of September, Ms Latha, Ms Nivedita and I came up with some activities for the whole school- grade-wise and shared them with everyone through the assembly. Student council members helped us to introduce these activities to all. In ICT, students learned to create a timeline on an app called ‘Popplet lite’. They created their own life’s timeline initially. Later, the next day, they used the same app for their research on Heritage to create a timeline on ‘Rulers of Hyderabad’. Celebration of Learning and Talent

This month began with a bash and is continuing to be so much fun for all of us in Grade-3. Beginning with preparing for the 'Bazaars of Hyderabad' and to witness it coming into reality in both the classrooms was marvelous. The buzzing streets of the 'Bazaars of Hyderabad' was much appreciated by all the spectators and visitors. It was a formative assessment for the students of Grade-3 and students from Grade-9 were the assessors. Each and every individual who came to the bazaars were appreciative of the hard work our students have invested in these markets, may it be their research finding or their presentations. Right from the students in Grade-1 to Grade 9, adults including teachers both from Junior and Senior schools, parents, Ms. Latha and Ms. Chloe were all in awe.
